Conducting periodic security assessments is essential for identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities within blockchain systems. A comprehensive study analyzed vulnerabilities across major blockchain platforms, revealing that certain modules, such as consensus, wallet, and networking, are more susceptible to security issues. The study found that about 70% of blockchain vulnerabilities are of traditional types, while also identifying new types specific to blockchains. By performing regular security assessments, organizations can detect these vulnerabilities early and implement appropriate countermeasures, thereby enhancing the overall security and resilience of their blockchain infrastructures.
