Launching the 2nd SEP
13 February 2024
We're happy to announce that applications are being accepted in our Second SEP until 21 March 2024. The SEP, which launched on January 24, seeks applications from qualified experts in blockchain standardisation.
Active participation in the blockchain standards community is one of the priorities for the European Commission, which collaborates closely with relevant bodies globally. Establishing standards is crucial for the success of technologies like blockchain. Well-timed and appropriate standards promote interoperability, foster trust, and enhance usability, thereby facilitating development and paving the way for widespread adoption.
This second call for application is part of a series of four SEPs aimed at supporting European Blockchain/DLT Standardisation specialists' participation in European, International, and global standardisation efforts. The objective is to represent Europe's interests and contribute to implementing content in the Blockchain Chapter within the Rolling Plan for ICT Standardisation.
The SEP will accept submissions until March 21, 2024. Following this, each call will undergo eligibility screening, evaluation, scoring, and ranking for funding. The inaugural SEP, which debuted in August 2023, was highly successful, attracting nearly 30 applications totaling 232,748.00 euros.
