Open call: €1.755.000 will be distributed among (up to) 15 selected projects including Blockchain-related topics

Trust Chain is an EU funded project that started in 2023 to address the challenges stemming from a centralized Internet architecture by distributing funding through open calls. The overall budget to support the initiative is Euros €8.8M. The first two calls are now closed but the third one just Opened!
The project Fosters a Human-Centered, Trustworthy and Sustainable Internet by supporting innovators in creating the next generations of Internet Protocols. In particular, The goal of Trust Chain’s Open Call 3 (OC3) on "Economics & democracy" is to formulate and construct market mechanisms facilitating data exchange and trading. The initiative also aims to create innovative, mutually beneficial federated business models for open data, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other regulations.
This call is open to a diverse range of applicants, encompassing developers, innovators, researchers, SMEs, and entrepreneurs engaged in various NGI-relevant topics and application domains. The focus lies at the intersection of technical fields, such as Software Engineering, Network Security, Semantic Web, Cryptography, Blockchain, Digital Twin, Blockchain Security, Digital Identity, and Blockchain Protocol, with Social Sciences and Humanities, including areas like Social Innovation, the not-for-profit sector, Social Entrepreneurship, and public goods. Additionally, applicants from disciplines such as economics, environment, art, and design are encouraged to participate, provided their contributions align with the NGI TrustChain vision.
€1.755.000 will be distributed among (up to) 15 selected projects along with free coaching and access to infrastructure. Applications are open until February 7, 2024, at 17:00 [Brussels time]
The evaluation process consists of three stages:
Phase 1: Admissibility and eligibility check
Phase 2: Evaluation of proposals
Phase 3: Conducting online interviews
