Through our training courses, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of ICT standardisation with a focus on blockchain.  These courses provide essential knowledge for anyone looking to navigate the evolving world of ICT and blockchain standardisation, providing students with a final certificate of completion.

The Basic Course I introduces the standardisation landscape, explaining key processes, major standardisation organisations, and their roles in the ICT ecosystem. Learners will explore the classification of standards, the interplay between formal and de facto standardisation, and the link between legislation and standards.

Basic Course II delves  into the role of standards in ICT, highlighting their significance in ensuring interoperability, reliability, and quality. Participants will learn about different types of standards and their application in blockchain technologies.

The Advanced Course focuses on the relationship between research and standardisation, demonstrating how research informs standard-setting and how established standards, in turn, shape research directions. By integrating research insights into blockchain standardisation, participants will understand how to foster innovation, enhance interoperability, and ensure best practices in the field.

The interface between research and standardisation with a focus on Blockchain

The webinar aims to define research and its connection to standardization, exploring the interdependencies between the two. It focuses on how research and standardization can mutually benefit each other, with an emphasis on integrating research insights into blockchain standardization. Additionally, it covers standards that can support blockchain-related research.

Role of Standards in ICT with a focus on Blockchain

The webinar explains the various functions of standards, including Compatibility/Interface, Minimum Quality/Safety, Variety Reduction, and Information/Measurement Standards. It emphasizes the ability to apply these different types of standards to ICT topics, including blockchain standards. The focus is on understanding the role and application of both general and ICT-specific standards.

ICT Standardisation Landscape with a Focus on Blockchain

The webinar describes the criteria for classifying organizations and documents in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), particularly the role of Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) and industrial consortia in standardization. It also explains the differences between formal and de facto standardization, as well as the processes through which de facto standards are adopted by SDOs.
